1994
We launched our Web site the same week CNN.com officially went online in
November of 1994. The Web site promoted Acme's Computer Bulletin Board
Service. |
 |
1995
In 1995, we registered our domain name "acmeinfo.com"
at a time when the National Science Foundation (NSF) was still funding the
InterNIC. There was no charge to register. For most, one domain name
per customer was still enough. |
 |
1996 Like the
rest of the Web, in 1996 our site was under
constant construction. |
 |
1997
This year brought tremendous growth to the Internet, better Web page creation
software and Windows® NT Server 4.0 for our servers. |
 |
1998
1998 highlights: Acme earned the status of
Microsoft Certified Solution Provider. Web site makeover - we lost the
black background - for good. All Acme Web servers were upgraded to IIS
4.0. Addition of secure e-commerce and shopping cart capabilities. |
 |
1999
In 1999 we shortened our name to "Acme Internet"
and updated our Web address to acmeinternet.com. Re-designed our Web
Design portfolio section - egads! -
with a
black background!?!. Microsoft® FrontPage® 2000 hosting launched... |
 |
2000

In 2000 we survived Y2K. Before Y2K we
installed Windows 2000-based Web servers - after Y2K they're still working! |
 |
2001 AcmeInternet.com
web site version 8.0 arrives. |
