Hello everyone -
It's that time of year again. We're embarking on the annual pilgrimage along with 220,000 other information technology professionals and assorted computer geeks to what is considered by many as "computing Mecca" - Fall Comdex.
Comdex is the the computer and technology event of the year. It's also a great excuse to get out of the office for a few days, have fun with other tech-heads and wander aimlessly around Las Vegas in search of Elvis.
This is the 3rd Comdex message board to appear on the Acme Web Site, and it's becoming somewhat of a tradition. We encourage everyone to check in regularly as we'll be posting messages to share info about all the fantastic new computer software, hardware and product developments that are exhibited and launched at Comdex.
Also, please check out the Acme Comdex Web Site from Fall of 1997 at http://www.acmeinfo.com/comdex/fall97/index.html
It's amazing how many things that were totally brand new, amazing and very expensive a year ago - are commonplace computer features today. Things like DVD Drives, 8.4 gig hard drives, Windows CE 2.0, flat panel monitors and Dynamic HTML that we highlighted on last year's Comdex web page - are all readily available tools and products this year.
Then, there are things that were incredibly accessible last year - that we might not see at all this year. Check out our "extreme close up" pictures of Bill Gates from last year's Comdex site. I'm willing to bet that after the well publicized the pie-in-the-face incident, Gates will be decidedly beyond prankster range, if not completely squirreled away from mortal view.
Speaking of Microsoft, we'll be paying special attention to the workshops and demos of FrontPage 2000 that will be featured at Comdex. Watch for info about our upcoming FrontPage 2000 web hosting beta program....
So, don't be shy. Post your comments, questions and general taunts here. :)
